沙落/樂人生 A Sand Painting Performance and Workshop
In October 2024, MTPC presented renowned sand artist Hoi Chiu in a mesmerizing performance titled “沙落/樂人生” at the Shaw Auditorium. He enthralled the audience with breathtaking sand paintings while sharing insights into his life and artistic inspirations. The event also featured his award-winning sand animation film, complemented by a soundtrack composed by HKUST graduate Ng Siu Fung. Following the performance, a sand art workshop led by artist 鄭穎 allowed participants to learn intricate techniques for creating dynamic imagery using the fluidity of sand and light.

填詞L
The event successfully showcased the local film The Lyricist Wannabe (填詞L), which resonated with university students. The film, inspired by director Norris Wong’s personal journey, highlights resilience and creativity in pursuing dreams, offering valuable lessons on overcoming setbacks.
A post-talk with Norris Wong Yee-Lam (黃綺琳) followed the screening. She shared insights into her creative process and the challenges of filmmaking, inspiring the audience with her reflections on perseverance and artistic passion.

Copper Etching Workshop
The Creative Media Zone (CMZ) at MTPC hosted a copper etching workshop, providing participants with a unique chance to explore the intricate, centuries-old art form. Guided by expert printmakers, attendees were carefully led through each stage—from preparing copper plates to applying acid etch and pulling their own prints. This hands-on experience not only enabled them to create personalized etchings but also deepened their appreciation for the precision and craftsmanship behind this timeless practice.
